Present Simple vs Present Continuous en Inglés: Guía
¿Cuál es la diferencia principal?
La diferencia fundamental está en si hablamos de hábitos/rutinas (Present Simple) o acciones que ocurren ahora (Present Continuous).
Present Simple - Hábitos y rutinas:
Acciones repetidas
I work every day
She studies English
They play tennis on Sundays
We eat dinner at 8 PM
Hechos generales
The sun rises in the east
Water boils at 100°C
Dogs bark loudly
I like chocolate
Present Continuous - Acciones en progreso:
Acciones ahora mismo
I 'm working right now
She 's studying English
They 're playing tennis
We 're eating dinner
Acciones temporales
I 'm living in Madrid this year
She 's working in a bank
They 're studying medicine

Verbos que NO se usan en continuo:
Verbos de estado mental
like, love, hate, want, need, prefer
I like pizza (no "I'm liking")
know, understand, believe, remember, forget
She knows the answer (no "She's knowing")
see, hear, smell, taste, feel (como percepción)
I see you (no "I'm seeing")
Práctica: Elige Present Simple o Present Continuous

💡 Consejos importantes
- Present Simple = hábitos, rutinas, hechos generales
- Present Continuous = acciones ahora mismo, situaciones temporales
- Algunos verbos (love, like, know) solo se usan en Present Simple
- Para acciones actuales: "now, at the moment, right now"
🎯 Regla clave
El Present Simple habla de lo general y habitual, mientras que el Present Continuous habla de lo específico y actual. La diferencia está en el momento de la acción.
