Cambios de tiempo verbal (backshift)

Pronombres y tiempo/espacio
- this → that, these → those
- here → there, now → then
- today → that day, tomorrow → the next day, yesterday → the day before
Preguntas yes/no y WH
Yes/No
Do you like it? → He asked if/whether I liked it
WH- questions
Where do you live? → He asked where I lived
Órdenes y peticiones
Tell/Ask + objeto + infinitive
"Close the door" → He told me to close the door
"Don't be late" → She told me not to be late
Modales que no cambian
Would, could, should, might, had better normalmente permanecen igual.
Práctica: Reported Speech
1. "I am tired" → He said he _____ tired.
2. "I will call you" → She said she _____ call me.
3. "Do you like it?" → He asked if I _____ it.
4. "Where do you live?" → She asked where I _____.
5. "Close the window" → He told me _____ the window.
💡 Consejos importantes
- Aplica backshift solo cuando el verbo introductor está en pasado
- Modales would/could/should/might no cambian
- Usa if/whether para preguntas yes/no
- En órdenes: tell/ask + objeto + (not) to + verbo
🎯 Regla clave
En reported speech ajusta tiempos, pronombres y referencias de tiempo/lugar. Backshift depende del verbo introductor y del contexto temporal.
