Let Down, Let In, Let Out: Significado y Ejemplos
Let off gira en torno a librar a alguien de un castigo o de una obligación, y también a hacer estallar algo. Let up describe algo que pierde intensidad, sobre todo la lluvia y la presión.
Los dos aparecen en expresiones fijas muy útiles: let someone off the hook, librar a alguien de un compromiso, y let off steam, desahogarse.
LET DOWN
Significado: Decepcionar a alguien al no cumplir con lo esperado o con una promesa, o bajar algo (como una prenda de vestir).

LET IN

LET OFF

Expresiones fijas: let someone off the hook es librarle de una obligación, y let off steam es descargar tensión. Con fuegos artificiales significa hacerlos estallar.
LET UP
Significado: Disminuir en intensidad, fuerza o velocidad (especialmente el clima o una situación difícil).

Sin objeto: el sujeto es lo que disminuye: la lluvia, el viento, la presión o el ritmo de alguien. En negativo transmite insistencia agotadora.
