Shut Down, Shut Up, Shut Out: Significado y Ejemplos
Shut off es el verbo técnico para cortar un suministro o detener una máquina. En manuales y avisos de seguridad lo verás constantemente, a menudo junto a valve o switch.
Shut in es más emocional: encerrar a alguien o sentirse encerrado. Su participio, shut in, describe esa sensación de aislamiento, y no siempre hay una puerta cerrada de por medio.
SHUT DOWN
Significado: Cerrar un negocio, fábrica o sistema de forma temporal o permanente.

SHUT UP

SHUT OFF

Significado: Encerrar a alguien en un lugar, o impedir que alguien salga.
